The Glorious 19th Century

Chris Beetles Gallery presents an exhibition of oils and watercolours of great variety, demonstrating the strength and range of 19th Century art; with subtle pristine artworks from the golden age of watercolour, to the vigour of Victorian imagery, this is a big and ambitious display to satisfy all tastes.

Topographical landscapes from home and abroad mix with costumed genre, beautiful portraiture and urban bustle.
From a time of British Empire, this is an all-conquering display of visual power. A cornucopia of rich oils in gilded frames from a self confident age.
