Modernist Art

Richard Nagy has been dealing in Modernist Art since 1980. He started the Dover Street Gallery in 1989 and in the autumn of 2010 opened a new space in Old Bond Street, London. The first exhibition, Egon Schiele. Women, opened in May 2011 to universal acclaim. In the following years he staged museum quality exhibitions, which in the past has included the Silverman Collection – a single owner group of outstanding Austrian and German expressionist works; George Grosz’s Berlin years and Alfred Kubin.

Apart from handling masters of the modernist canon, Richard Nagy has specialised in the work of Egon Schiele and Gustav Klimt since 1984. His gallery also focuses on German Expressionism: Die Brücke, Der Blaue Reiter and Die Neue Sachlichkeit; as well as more recent British artists of a related sensibility like Spencer, Bacon and Freud. In addition, Symbolist artists – Redon, Ensor and Kubin – are frequently available.
